How do you think the story (what you read so far) would have changed if Scout and Jem had a mother present in their lives? Would it change for the better or for the worse? Explain your thoughts.

I think that Jem & Scout will have a slightly different life. Atticus doesnt get home until dinner most of the time, so Calpurnia is like their mother. Calpurnia is always inside the kitchen so she cant really be watching them & supervise what ever they play. I think that if their mother was alive, they wouldnt play "Boo Radley" as much. I think that Scout will also spend more time with her than with Jem.

Scout was spending time with Miss.Maudie Atkinson when Jem & Dill werent talking and spending time with her but when both of them were best friends & Scout felt left out. Scout didnt really got along with Calpurnia & theres no other kids in the neighborhood but Jem & Dill when he comes for summer. If her mom was there; I guess they would both spend time together. Jem will find time to spend with Atticus.

But I think that it wont change alot; Calpurnia and now Aunt Alexandra is their feminine influence. Scout doesnt enjoy the presence of Aunt Alexandra their but she is learning what Aunt Alexandra thinks; she now is learning what a "lady" should be like.
